About Our Staff

Hallack Greider, Interim Pastor

My role and my heart for ministry
As an interim pastor I get to do all the things that pastors usually do:  preach, lead worship, lead the leaders, care for the flock, and challenge people to their better selves in Jesus Christ.  Yet I also get to do some other things that are unique to a time of transition, such as
  • Help churches with the developmental tasks during the transition time:  looking at their history with honesty and humility; discovering a new identity, cultivating new leadership, and committing to a new future.
  • Create an environment that encourages congregational health and vitality and growth. Interim ministry is not a time of holding down the fort until a new pastor arrives, but a fertile time of growth and renewal and building up.
  • Encourage openness to the change and renewal that the Spirit of God will bring.
  • Work to ensure the best possible match for a new Head of Staff.
  • Exit with grace while blessing the congregation in their new direction.
  • To keep learning and growing in my own walk with Christ along the way, and have fun.

As a mentor friend told me:  a good interim should lead without being the center, guide without being the focus, and leave without being the problem.  That fairly well sums up what I’m about.

Kurt Helmcke, Associate Pastor

My Role
I’m a pastor, and that means – according to Ephesians 4:12 – I “equip Christ’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”  How do I do this?  I help connect people to God and God’s purposes for their lives, and this always involves believing in and following Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  I preach, pray and lead worship.  I teach the Bible and encourage people in difficult times.  And I prepare people to join God’s mission of love to the world and serve with compassion in the church and in the world.

My Heart for Ministry
I love being a pastor. I can’t imagine doing anything else for a living…and it is a living, a lifestyle of walking with people and encouraging their faith and witness.  I enjoy helping people become Christians and make connections with others in the church.  I enjoy helping people take that next step of faith in their journey with Jesus.  I love studying God’s Word and sharing these life-transforming insights with others.  I develop leaders in the church, people who discover their God-given passion for ministry and mission.  I feel fulfilled when I’ve helped someone step up to a life of meaningful service to others in response to the call of Jesus.

Heather Ingersoll, Director, Children's Ministry

My Role
As the Director of Children’s Ministries at North Creek I develop, implement, and oversee the programs for children three years to 6th grade and their families. These include Sunday morning classes, midweek programs, family events and an annual summer camp. These programs are designed to nurture children and families in the faith lives.
My Heart for Ministry
Children bring so much life and vitality to a congregation. My desire is to: foster an environment where children experience God’s love in community, grow their heart for God, build a foundation for lifelong faith, and explore and utilize the gifts God has given them.

Lolly Brasseur, Director, Music Ministry

My Role
Director of Music Ministry is a role designed to open the door to quality music opportunities at North Creek Presbyterian Church.  When I’m not leading music in real-time (a.k.a. Sunday morning), I’m interviewing and recruiting our musicians, then scheduling them for appropriate services. Each week, I select music that is matched to upcoming services and arrange the music into a variety of musical styles, formatting each piece to our musicians so that they may perform together with ease and confidence.  For a well-prepared offering of music to our Savior, we rehearse twice during the week (or more). Tack on a few other duties with enthusiasm, and that’s me.

My Heart for Ministry
My heart’s desire is encouraging people who have an honest yearning to serve God musically to come and participate in our music ministry.  It’s so important for the Music Director to create a welcoming environment where musicians of any age may unite and contribute collaboratively in rehearsal.  When Sunday comes, our music teams lead our congregation in song and praise for Jesus; this experience is my greatest joy in life because it’s a foretaste of heaven.  And as I always say, as long as we do music for Him, we’ll always be in tune.  (Jesus is the key.)

Molly Pankow, Nursery & Childcare Coordinator

My Role
As Nursery Coordinator, my primary responsibility is to staff the Nursery on Sunday Morning with volunteers who care for and teach our youngest members. I also write the curriculum for the 2’s class, and create the crafts they do every Sunday. On most Sunday mornings, I can be found behind the Nursery Desk greeting families, answering questions, and welcoming the children.

My Heart for Ministry
One of my favorite times on a Sunday morning is when the children from the 2’s class will excitedly bounce up to the desk to show me the craft they made, and tell me about the Bible story they learned. I feel blessed to be part of these families’ lives, and inspired by the chance to teach these very young children their first lesson’s about the Bible, and about becoming Disciples of Christ.

LeAnn Venn, Office Supervisor

My Role
As the Office Supervisor, I manage the office operations including the office assistant, volunteers, office supplies and machines. Scheduling the use of the facility for church events and for groups from outside North Creek is also part of my responsibilities.  I provide support for the interim pastor and session by preparing documents and materials for session and the congregation. Working with those persons requesting assistance, as well as personal care such as listening and offering prayers as needed is part of what I do.

My Heart for Ministry
I enjoy the opportunities to serve those who come to the office, whether member, friend, or visitor. It is a joy for me to assist those preparing materials for their ministries or listening to their current life circumstances.

Hal Hunt, Director, Choir

My Role
To present choral music that sets a tone for worship at NCPC. My responsibilities include analyzing choral scores, purchasing appropriate music, scheduling anthems to support worship themes and rehearsing the choir for excellence in presentation.
My Heart for Ministry
As a life-long musician, performer, teacher, and director, I have developed a passion for quality sacred choral music. I have learned to appreciate the people who contribute their talents to produce quality performances.
Each Sunday morning when the choir sings, I thrill to the experience of leading music that may enhance someone’s worship experience and lead him/her to a closer relationship to Christ.
