Deacon Ministry
The office of Deacon is one of sympathy, witness and service, after the example of Jesus Christ himself, who came to the earth not to be served, but to serve. Deacons are the congregation's arm of compassion and hospitality both inside and outside the church. The duty of a Deacon is to minister to those in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to anyone in distress. The Deacon's at Northcreek Presbyterian Church are made up of between 33 and 35 Deacons all who have made a spiritual commitment for a three year term to fulfill the servant role as part of the body of Christ.
These Deacons are dedicated to providing for the needs of members and friends and walking alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ to provide a friendly connection to the church. Deacons help carry life's burdens with you no matter what stage of life or circumstances you may be facing and together all the resources the church has to offer because you are not alone in your walk with Christ.
Deacon's have been serving congregations from the very beginnings of the church. The Deacons at Northcreek Presbyterian Church carry on this same devotion in many ways.
Though the needs within a congregation may change as our world around us changes, the servant heart of a Deacon is steadfast and dedicated to the care and assistance of our friends and members.
Some of the services provided by Deacons at Northcreek Presbyterian Church:
Communion preparation, recognition of baptisms and newborns, transportation, meals, holiday gift baskets, emergency financial assistance, serving at memorial services, follow up bereavement care, sponsorship of blood drives, service with the welcoming team and healing services. Above all, Deacons encourage the body of Christ to care for one another in the example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whenever and wherever possible.
